A CHANCE FOR PEOPLE TO ASK QUESTIONS ON POLICING IN THE BOROUGH
The Metropolitan Police Authoritys Consultation, Diversity & Outreach Committee are holding their next meeting in Kingston upon Thames later this month.
The committee, which deals with community consultation, safety, crime reduction and diversity in policing, on behalf of the MPA, meets in a different borough each month.
On Tuesday 22 May 2001 the committee will meet at the Market House, Market Place, Kingston upon Thames starting at 6pm.
During the open meeting, 30 minutes will be allotted for members of the public to put questions and their views to members of the committee.
Chair of the Consultation, Diversity and Outreach Committee, R. David Muir, said:
"The work of the Consultation, Diversity and Outreach Committee is vital in building effective partnerships with Londons diverse communities.
We want a police service which has the confidence and trust of their local communities and it is our intention to have many of our meetings in community venues to facilitate local participation and greater understanding of the work of the Metropolitan Police Authority and its Consultation, Diversity and Outreach Committee. Our objective is to make London a safe and enjoyable place to live and work."
