OCTOBER MEETINGS AT THE METROPOLITAN POLICE AUTHORITY

The MPA will be holding a series of Committee meetings during the month of October. All these meetings are open to the public and press, and the agendas and documents for the meetings will be posted on our website at http://www.mpa.gov.uk. The meeting of the Full Authority will be held on the 25 October, when the Commissioner Sir John Stevens will be giving an update on current policing issues in London. All meetings are held at Romney House, Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY.

The Metropolitan Police Authority took over the responsibility for the Metropolitan Police Service on 3 July 2000. Its duties include securing an effective and efficient police service for the Metropolitan Police District and securing Best Value - ensuring continuous improvement of London''s policing services; consulting the people of London to find out their views about policing in the capital and taking account of these views when setting objectives.
